On July 8th in the presence of his family, members of the community, and the Mayor and Borough Council, Deputy Borough Clerk Rebecca Garbowski administered the oath of office to Officer Kevin Soto. Kevin is a US Marine combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. He has served as both a Corrections Officer and Sherriff’s Officer for Middlesex County. At the completion of his field training assignement Officer Soto will begin his service to our community as a member of the Patrol Dvision. Please join us in wishing him a long and fulfilling career.

Verizon, JCP&L, and Cablevision are getting closer to the completion of their utility work. Green Construction reports that the new bridge is being waterproofed today and after an inspection by Conrail the new track will be installed on the bridge next week and rail traffic will start using the new bridge on October 22nd. Tentatively, demolition of the old trestle and the final widening of the roadway will commence on October 27th so we anticipate that you will see substantial progress.
