As the 9/11 anniversary approaches several of our members are again participating in the annual Tour De Force cycling event to raise money for families of Police Officers killed in the line of duty. This year the ride started on September 8 in Boston and will conclude at the World Trade Center site on September 11. Good luck to Chief Zebrowski, Sergeants O’Donnell and Skarzynski, Officer Keith Grausam, and Dr. Vip Nanavati. And special thanks to Sergeant Gottstine, Captain Marcinczyk (retired), and Mr. Ruben Salgado for keeping the wheels turning and the cyclists fed.

We are grateful that our members give generously of their personal time to support this event.

…and things are ramping up here at the Public Safety Complex. While like all of you we are still waiting for the Bordentown Avenue/Ernston Road intersection to re-open we have been very busy getting things ready for the end of vacation season and the beginning of the school year.

The Traffic Safety Bureau will be spearheading a drunk driving enforcement program through Labor Day weekend and is planning high visibility patrols for the opening week of school.

Our Explorer Post is gearing up for another busy year of Community Events and classes designed to help them understand the important role that all Public Safety Agencies play in the community.

We’d like you join us on September 24th at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers for the swearing in of our two newest Officers, Matthew Atlak and Walter Arway.

We hope that you continue to enjoy the great Summer weather.
