Domestic Violence

Temporary Restraining Order (TRO)

If you have been the victim of domestic violence you are entitled to apply to the court for a Temporary Restraining Order. A restraining order is a document issued by a Judge that bars your alleged abuser from harming you further. It can include restraints that prevent them from contacting or harassing you. In an emergency, or when the Family Court is not in session, any domestic violence victim can apply for a restraining order at their local police department
