This Bureau is tasked with the investigation of criminal offenses committed by adult offenders. Detectives in this unit are tasked with solving offenses against property and persons. It is a challenging and dynamic environment where one day you may be looking in to a string of burglaries and the next you might be at the scene of a homicide. An assignment to this unit is extremely demanding and requires skills in interview and interrogation, surveillance, and most importantly a keen eye for detail.
Fraud

Often our most frequent complaints are related to fraud and identity theft. Imaginative criminals are always thinking of new ways to cheat people out of their property or savings.
The best way to avoid being a victim of fraud is to follow these steps:
Guard your numbers
- Do not carry your Social Security Card in your wallet or purse
- Do not put your Social Security of Drivers License Number on checks
- Keep and shred all bank statements, ATM receipts, and credit card statements
Lock up your mail
- Use a locking home mailbox
- Retrieve your mail every day
- Shred pre-approved credit card offers before disposing of them
Use security software on your computer
- Install firewalls and anti-virus protection
- Use alternate email accounts instead of your personal account for transactions on the internet
- Delete all sensitive data from your hard drive before disposing of old computers
- Don’t respond to suspicious email messages or open attachments you weren’t expecting, even from people you know.
