Verizon, JCP&L, and Cablevision are getting closer to the completion of their utility work. Green Construction reports that the new bridge is being waterproofed today and after an inspection by Conrail the new track will be installed on the bridge next week and rail traffic will start using the new bridge on October 22nd. Tentatively, demolition of the old trestle and the final widening of the roadway will commence on October 27th so we anticipate that you will see substantial progress. Blue Mass 2012
This year the Sayreville Police Department was given the honor of acting as the host agency for the event. Marching behind our Honor Guard, Chief Zebrowski led the long lines of Officers from local, county, state, and federal agencies in to the Cathedral for the Mass. The celebrant was Bishop Paul Bootkoski who was joined by many concelebrating Priests including Father Thomas Ryan of Our Lady of Victories and Father Kenneth Murphy of Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church.
We are very grateful to the members of our community who attended to show their support. In addition to several elected Officials and many family members we are especially grateful to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from both OLV and Saint Stan’s who joined in the celebration.

As the 9/11 anniversary approaches several of our members are again participating in the annual Tour De Force cycling event to raise money for families of Police Officers killed in the line of duty. This year the ride started on September 8 in Boston and will conclude at the World Trade Center site on September 11. Good luck to Chief Zebrowski, Sergeants O’Donnell and Skarzynski, Officer Keith Grausam, and Dr. Vip Nanavati. And special thanks to Sergeant Gottstine, Captain Marcinczyk (retired), and Mr. Ruben Salgado for keeping the wheels turning and the cyclists fed.
