Narcotics Bureau

“In the course of history many more people have died for their drink and their dope than have died for their religion or their country.” (Aldous Huxley)

The abuse of drugs has been a societal problem for generations and illegal narcotics are present in neighborhoods from Brooklyn to Beverly Hills. The Sayreville Police Department Narcotics Bureau is responsible for the detection and investigation of illegal narcotics activity in the Borough. Working closely with surrounding police departments, the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office Narcotics Task Force, and with agencies like the New Jersey State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, Detectives in this Bureau conduct surveillance, infiltrate known drug locations, and participate in the investigation of large scale narcotics operations. In addition to their efforts to stop the flow of illegal drugs, Narcotics Detectives investigate another type of drug crime, the sale of intoxicating prescription medications.

Many of our most successful drug prosecutions have started from information provided by members of our community. If you would like to report activity that you belief involves the sale or use of narcotics you can call us at 732-727-4444 or email narcotics.
