Building on the firm foundation built by preceding generations of Sayreville Police the department has been busy instituting operation changes to provide even higher qualities of police service to the community. Those types of change aren’t always easy to see. Looking for a way to communicate the fact that good things are happening here at 1000 Main Street, Chief Zebrowski asked Patrick Kennedy of Grafix Solutions to develop a new logo for our department. Mr. Kennedy provided the services of his entire Hartle Street staff and developed an eye catching design.

Blending the old with the new the design incorporates our new patch along with an original artist’s rendering of our building when it was proposed in the 1970’s. Featured prominently is our new motto “Serving the Community with Honor, Integrity, and Professionalism”.

We are proud of the new logo and hope it serves as an outward sign of our ongoing commitment to the community.

Morgan Bridge Traffic Advisory

On or about September 6th work will begin on the rehabilitation of the Morgan Bridge.  Work will be conducted from 7am-4:30pm weekdays.  Some night work is also scheduled during weekdays and weekends between September 14-May 16 from 9pm-6am.  While we will try to minimize inconvenience, motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute.

Traffic Safety

The Traffic Safety Bureau will be stepping up their pedestrian safety efforts in the next few weeks. As the old saying goes, we have many children in our community but none to spare.  Be aware and ALWAYS yield to pedestrians.

In early September our department will be increasing patrols to detect intoxicated drivers. Funded by a grant from the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety the Over the Limit Under Arrest campaign will allow us to staff targeted patrols to detect and arrest intoxicated drivers.  Remember, if you have been drinking, don’t get behind the wheel.
